the space where something was

Oil on panel, 10cm wide x 22cm tall.

A painting of a wall mounted telephone. The majority of this image is a sky blue wall. The skirting board, an off white, and the dark brown floor cover about one sixth of the image.

Attached to the wall, perhaps a quarter of the way down and slightly right of centre, is a white telephone. It is the type that have the keypad on the inside of the handset. The coiled wire connecting handset to base is of a similar length to the phone itself. The wire connecting the phone to the network is white and runs straight down the wall to the floor. There it has a ninety degree bend and runs across the floor next to the skirting, exiting the right side of the image.

The image is lit from the 9 o'clock position.
